Shops at bus stops in Tashkent are being removed.
More than 360 stops and 190 large and small intersections were passed.

According to the Tashkent City Administration, shops at bus stops in Tashkent city will be removed.
"According to international experience, modern concepts for public transport stops ensure the absence of commercial facilities in the stop area, free and safe waiting for transport by passengers, sufficiently wide platforms with the possibility of expanding them during high congestion, as well as the creation of an inclusive environment," stated the administration's announcement.
Earlier, it was reported that specialists from the Road Traffic Organization Center had identified the most congested 472 km of automobile roads in the capital. According to the administration's information, the first stage covered a distance of 100 km, with over 360 stops and 190 intersections of various sizes being audited.
The results of the conducted audit showed that there are 110 commercial facilities located at stops along public transport routes. Of these, 61 could not provide documents confirming the right to own and use the territory of the stop complex. Their activities are being legally assessed, and appropriate measures are being taken.
Based on the relevant decision of the city administration, all stops will be renovated. A compensation mechanism is envisaged for entrepreneurs with permitting documents by allocating another location for them to set up their sales points.
