The Spanish Prime Minister responded to Trump's threat to halt trade.
The Minister, referring to the military operation carried out in Iraq in 2003, called for not repeating "the mistakes of the past."

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez responded to US President Donald Trump's statement about suspending trade relations between the two countries because Madrid refused to provide its airbases for attacks on Iran.
In his televised address on Wednesday morning, Sanchez said the Spanish government's position could be described with the words "we say no to war."
The minister called for not repeating "the mistakes of the past," referring to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Sanchez recalled that the participants of that military operation failed to achieve their goals, but it led to instability in the region and a deterioration in the lives of its population.
According to Sanchez, attacks on Iran could lead to economic consequences for millions of ordinary people, just as in Iraq, and the Spanish government is considering measures against this.
