The US is sending additional thousands of marines and paratroopers near Iran.

The United States is planning to conduct a ground operation in Iranian territory in the near future. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing three sources within the U.S. Senate.
"At least three Republican congressmen, including leaders of the House of Representatives and Senate Armed Services Committees, have firmly stated that a ground operation in Iranian territory is being planned and could begin in the near future," the journalist wrote.
In recent days, the U.S. has been assembling ground forces by sending thousands of additional Marines and paratroopers to the region near Iran.
According to information, this week, a warship with thousands of Marines will come under the control of the U.S. Central Command. This command oversees U.S. forces in the Middle East.
Additionally, the Pentagon has begun preparing rapid-response paratroopers. These forces could join the 50,000 military personnel previously deployed to the region as part of the "Epic Fury" operation.
Currently, following U.S. statements about a ground operation, Tehran is strengthening the defense of Kharg Island, Iran's main oil hub. This island was previously attacked by the U.S.
