Starting from April 1, cash payments will not be accepted for public transport in Jizzakh.

Plans are underway to fully implement an electronic payment system in public transport in Jizzakh city, phasing out cash payments for fares. A decision on this matter has been adopted by the local administration.

According to the decision, the aim is to improve the quality of public transport services in the city, ensure transparency of payments, and widely introduce digital technologies in the sector. Furthermore, these measures are intended to reduce the shadow economy and encourage the use of electronic payment systems.

It is reported that according to the current tariffs, the bus fare in Jizzakh city is set at 3,000 soums per passenger. When payment is made through the electronic payment system—ATTO—an incentive discount is applied, making the fare 2,100 soums.

Based on the decision, starting from April 1, 2026, the practice of accepting cash for bus fares in city buses will be completely discontinued. Payments from passengers will be accepted only in electronic form.

For this purpose, it is planned to install self-service infokiosks at bus stops in Jizzakh city. Through these devices, passengers will have the opportunity to purchase electronic tickets. The list of locations where infokiosks must be installed will be compiled by the relevant authorities.

In addition, all buses in the city will be equipped with special validators, and fare payment through the automated ATTO system will be placed under constant monitoring.

The administration's information service has been tasked with conducting explanatory work among the population regarding these changes.

The implementation of the decision has been assigned to the deputy governor of the region.
