The official promised the farmer to open the water supply to the fields.

A criminal case has been initiated against the deputy governor of Kogon district in Bukhara region for accepting a bribe. The State Security Service reported this.
According to the report, the deputy district governor, using his official position, was caught red-handed by officers of the State Security Service and the Prosecutor's Office while accepting a bribe in the amount of 12,000 US dollars through extortion.
According to the news, a farmer engaged in contractual farming in Bukhara district approached this deputy governor, requesting assistance in providing water to the fields located in the "Qum Sultan" area, as the water supply coming through the territory of Kogon district had been cut off. The official demanded 15,000 US dollars in exchange for restoring the water supply to the fields and ensuring no further issues in this regard.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the deputy district governor under Article 210 (accepting a bribe), Part 2, paragraphs "b" and "c" of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied.
