Finland closed air and sea routes in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland.
This measure was implemented following drone attacks on the northwestern regions of Russia.

Finland has imposed temporary restrictions on air and maritime traffic in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland amid drone attacks on Russia's northwestern regions. This was reported by the country's Defense Forces, as reported by Kommersant.
It is noted that the restrictions came into effect early Saturday morning as a precautionary measure. At the same time, during the night when the drone attacks on Russia were carried out, the Finnish Air Force was also put on combat alert, and military aircraft were launched into the air.
According to Yere Paldanius, a representative of the communications department of the Finnish General Staff, told Helsingin Sanomat, the restrictions were imposed due to the drone attacks carried out on Russia.
According to him, air surveillance has been intensified to ensure the safety of citizens and the effective operation of authorized bodies when necessary.
This was the second restriction imposed by Finland over the Gulf of Finland in a short period. The country had previously introduced temporary restrictions on air and maritime traffic in this area on July 2.
On the same day, Russia's city of St. Petersburg was subjected to a large-scale drone attack. According to Russian data, 72 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down. A strike was carried out on an oil terminal in the Kirovsky district of the city, and one of the shot-down drones fell in the Peterhof area. No information about casualties as a result of the incident has been reported.
