Relief for Uzbeks traveling to Egypt: new entry rules postponed

The deadline for introducing new rules regarding the entry of Uzbek citizens into Egypt has been postponed until March 1, 2027. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

According to the report, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo held direct negotiations with the Egyptian side. As a result, an agreement was reached to review the previously adopted decision on tightening the entry procedure for Uzbek citizens into the country.

Thus, until the new rules come into force, Uzbek citizens may travel to Egypt under the current procedure.

The ministry stated that work continues with foreign partners to expand citizens' opportunities for traveling abroad, introduce visa-free regimes, and simplify existing travel procedures with other countries.

Citizens were also advised to observe local legislation and established rules during trips abroad, comply with visa and migration requirements, and respect the national values, traditions, and public order of the country being visited.

It was previously reported that from November 1, 2026, new procedures would be introduced for the entry of Uzbek citizens into the Arab Republic of Egypt, and that citizens traveling to the country would need to obtain a visa in advance and comply with certain additional requirements.
