Over 35 kilograms of narcotics smuggling uncovered in Uzbekistan
Individuals attempting to bring drugs from neighboring countries have been detained.

Illegal circulation of over 35 kilograms of narcotics has been prevented in Uzbekistan. The State Security Service (SSS) reported on this.
It is reported that during an operational event conducted in the Tashkent region in cooperation with military personnel of the SSS Border Troops and employees of the territorial administration, two citizens born in 2003 and 1998 were apprehended while illegally crossing the state border.
From two sports bags in their possession, 4 kg 884 grams of "opium", 19 kg 863 grams of "hashish" substances, as well as 380 boxes of tobacco products named "Esse Change" were identified and seized as material evidence.
Regarding this incident, a criminal case has been initiated against the suspects under Articles 223, 246, and 273 of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied.
Furthermore, during operational-search activities conducted in the Surkhandarya region, narcotics smuggled from Afghanistan have also been uncovered.
According to the report, three individuals born in 1978, 1981, and 2004 were caught while swimming across the Amu Darya using an automobile inner tube, having violated the state border.
During the inspection process, 2 kg 708 grams of "opium" and 8 kg 257 grams of "hashish" substances were found in bags they had with them.
It was established that these individuals were promised a fee of 200 US dollars per kilogram for delivering the narcotics to the destination.
Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Articles 223 and 246 of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied. Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
