President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Uzbekistan national football team and assessed the team's qualification for the World Cup as a historic event.

 

The head of state congratulated the players and fans ahead of the World Cup, which will take place in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, emphasizing that the people had waited 34 years for this moment.

 

According to the President, the players approached each match with high preparation and great responsibility, stepping onto the field only for victory.

 

"Our players deserve to be called heroes of our time, who have opened a new page in Uzbekistan's history," said the head of state.

 

Furthermore, Shavkat Mirziyoyev mentioned that he could not sleep from joy on the day the World Cup berth was secured, and expressed gratitude to the players, their parents, teachers, and coaches.

 

It was noted that renowned poets, writers, and artists also participated in the meeting. According to the President, they are creating new poems, songs, and works about the bravery of the players.

 

The head of state stated that entrepreneurs are also actively leveraging the national team's success, noting that business representatives are promoting their national brands worldwide through football and entering new markets.

 

The President also highlighted that the players' achievements serve as a great motivation for young people.

 

"The number of children saying 'I will also become a famous footballer' is increasing. Our people will always be proud of you," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
