Ibrohim G‘afurov has been productive in the fields of classical literature, folklore, literary criticism, and artistic translation.

Writer, literary scholar, translator, and Hero of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Gafurov has passed away at the age of 88. The Uzbekistan Writers' Union announced this.
Ibrahim Gafurov was born on December 27, 1937, in Tashkent into a craftsman's family. After graduating from secondary school, he studied at the Faculty of Philology of the National University of Uzbekistan from 1956 to 1961.
During his career, he worked as a junior editor, editorial director, and deputy editor-in-chief at the State Publishing House of Fiction.
He also served as deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Uzbekistan Literature and Art" from 1982 to 1995.
Ibrahim Gafurov worked productively in the fields of classical literature, folklore, literary criticism, and literary translation, making a significant contribution to the publication of many major literary projects and multi-volume works. In 2021, he was awarded the title of "Hero of Uzbekistan."
In 2025, he was honored in the direction of translating world prose into Uzbek at the International Literary Translation Competition named after Ogahi.
Additionally, in 1995, he participated in the establishment of the National Revival Democratic Party and later served as the party chairman and editor-in-chief of the newspaper "National Revival."
