How stable is marriage in Uzbekistan?

As of 2025, the marriage stability coefficient in Uzbekistan was 175.6 per mille. This means that for every 1,000 marriages, there are an average of 175 divorces. This was reported by the "Family and Gender" research institute in a statement.

It is noted that this indicator is low on an international scale, indicating that the divorce rate in the country is significantly lower than in many other nations.

For comparison, the marriage stability coefficient is 642.7 per mille in Moldova, 431.9 in Azerbaijan, 328.2 in Kazakhstan, and 289.6 in Kyrgyzstan.

When analyzed by region, marriage stability remains high in the Kashkadarya, Khorezm, and Surkhandarya regions. Conversely, divorce rates are observed to be relatively higher in the city of Tashkent, as well as in the Syrdarya and Tashkent regions.

"The analysis shows that the divorce rate in Uzbekistan is significantly lower compared to international indicators, which demonstrates that family values are a priority in society and that marriages are stable," the statement reads.
