In Tashkent, starting from September 1, passengers will be required to pay the fare when boarding the bus.
If the fare is not paid in the prescribed manner or the benefit is not confirmed, the passenger is considered to have traveled without a ticket.

The government's resolution "On additional measures to further improve the urban passenger transport system" has been adopted. The resolution was approved on June 3, 2026. The Ministry of Transport reported this.
According to the document, a zero rate of recycling fee will be applied for importing new buses, electric buses, and trolleybuses of category M3, designed to carry at least 60 passengers along with the driver and meeting "Euro-5" and higher environmental standards, into Uzbekistan until December 31, 2027.
Additionally, a new procedure will be introduced from September 1, 2026, to ensure the completeness of revenue on regular urban bus routes operating under gross contracts.
According to it, passengers will be required to pay the fare by validating a transport card through validators upon boarding the bus, using bank cards, smartphones, and other contactless electronic payment methods (NFC, QR, biometric technologies, BLE, UWB, and others), or confirm their right to travel at a reduced rate or free of charge using social and transport cards.
If the fare is not paid or the benefit is not confirmed in the prescribed manner, the passenger will be considered to be traveling without a ticket.
The resolution also amended the concept of urban bus routes. Now, routes extending up to 5 kilometers outside the city limits, as well as up to 12 kilometers in accordance with approved master plans for the development of transport and road transport infrastructure, will also be recognized as urban bus routes.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Transport, in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies, will introduce a unified integrated payment system for the capital's public transport and suburban railway services by September 1, 2026.
Within the framework of this system, attractive tariff plans will also be developed for the "electric train–bus" and "electric train–metro" routes.
